BMT Features Deck, from NYDB
The BMT Committee held a design brainstorm to imagine key features that may benefit the development of the BMT. The Deck is linked here.
This is intended to spark conversation and add a positive and collaborative layer of communication to our outreach to the EDC, Task Force Members and Elected Officials.
This was shared with Andrew Kimball and Mikelle Adgate (EDC) May 7, along with the following note.
Dear Andrew and Mikelle -
On behalf of the New York Dock Building BMT Committee, we would like to sincerely thank you for your continued outreach and direct engagement with our committee / building.
As mentioned previously, we appreciate and understand the complexity of planning that goes into reimagining and redeveloping the Brooklyn Marine Terminal — a once in three-generation opportunity. That said, a once in three-generation opportunity deserves deep exploration and bold ideas.
To that end, we are pleased to share the attached Features Presentation. This presentation includes a collection of key features for consideration by the EDC and its constituents. The key features range from a full service sports complex to a highline inspired greenway. We recognize there are countless, interconnected factors that will ultimately drive decision making. This presentation is not an attempt to tackle said factors — it is intended to brighten the dialogue and spark conversation.
We — the New York Dock Building BMT Committee — authored this presentation to continue our engagement in the reimagining of the Brooklyn Marine Terminal through the sharing of thoughtful and creative ideas that align with what we hope the project can be for all Red Hook residents and investors.
We look forward to hearing your feedback and continuing to be an involved thought partner.
Very Sincerely,
Samantha Razook
